    Monitoring Electrolysis

    Methods and compositions are provided for monitoring and optimizing electrolysis, for example, tissue electrolysis. Aspects of the methods include monitoring electrolysis of a tissue in a subject using an imaging technique or a measurement technique, e.g., a bulk spectroscopic measurement technique. Imaging techniques of interest include electrical impedance-based tomography and magnetic electrical impedance tomography. Electrical impedance-based imaging methods include imaging the electrical impedance of a tissue of the subject undergoing electrolysis, and monitoring the electrolysis based on one or more electrical impedance images of the tissue. Another modality to monitor electrolysis is by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based methods which include imaging pH changes in a tissue of the subject undergoing electrolysis by magnetic resonance imaging, and monitoring the electrolysis based on one or more magnetic resonance images of the pH changes in the tissue. Measurement techniques of interest include bulk measurements of electrical properties and their changes with electrolysis or bulk changes in magnetic resonance readings and their changes with electrolysis. Devices and systems thereof that find use in practicing the methods are also provided.

    Umar Ibn Al-khattab’s Visits to Bayt Al-maqdis: a Study on Its Reasons and Objectives

    The aim of this paper is to examine historical accounts relating to Umar Ibn al-Khattab’s visit to Bayt al-Maqdis, by focusing on the reasons, aims and objectives. Multiple historical sources with diverse accounts have posed a challenge to modern researchers in determining the accuracy and validy of issues surrounding Umar’s visit to Bayt al-Maqdis. Therefore in this paper the authors gather all the available reasons, compare them and try to link them with the surrounding situation. At the same time, the authors provide explanations of the reasons for the great contradictions among the Islamic sources and accounts. In addition, the reasons behind the different visits of Umar’s to Syria and the work he carried out in each visit is reported and explained. Through the analysis of the early sources, the authors also discuss and analyse the views of some modern researchers who have dealt with this issue.     Entity creation for constrained devices

    A method for creating a profile for accessing or manipulating resources across a plurality of nodes in a network is disclosed. An entity manager receives a request from a client to create a profile, and preferably validates the request. The entity manager generates said profile and the profile is addressable by a profile identifier. A client may use the profile to interact with the resources across the plurality of nodes using the profile identifier.

    علاقة المماليك مع القبائل العربية في مصر: 865 - 923 هـ/1460 - 1517م

    روح بن زنباع الجذامي وحياته العامة في صدر الإسلام

    ملخص تتناول هذه الدراسة أحد رجالات فلسطين البارزين في العصر الأموي وهو روح بن زنباع الجذامي بهدف دراسة دوره في الحياة العامة في صدر الإسلام في جزء من الدولة الأموية، إذ عاصر فترة الاضطرابات الاولى التي شهدتها الدولة الأموية عقب وفاة معاوية ولعب دورا هاما ومؤثرا في مجرى الأحداث. وكانت حياته الاجتماعيى حافلة سواء من خلال مكانته القبلية أو صفاته الشخصية ومميزاته وحياته الاسرية. وتكمن أهمية هذه الدراسة في أنها تحاول تسليط الضوء على شخصية فلسطينية مؤثرة لم تنل حقها من البحث والتحري إلا في دراستين تناولتا الجانب السياسي من حياة روح بن زنباع، أما هذه الدراسة فبالإضافة إلى أنها تتناول الجانب السياسي من حياة روح بن زنباع الجذامي إلا أنها تسلط الضوء كذلك على الجوانب الأخرى الهامة من حياته، فتتناول نسبه ومكانته في قبيلة جذام والجانب الاجتماعي والاسري ومميزاته وقدراته الخاصة في الخطابة كونه كونه أحد أهم الخطباء المفوهين في العصر الأموي وبراعته كمفاوضا نيابة عن الدولة، وكذلك المناصب الرسمية التي شغلهالا في الدولة، وعمله كمستشار لعدد من خلفاء بني أمية وخاصة عبد الملك بن مروان والمكانة العالية والرفيعة التي تمتع بها لدى الأسرة الأموية، أو بكلمات أخرى فان الدراسة تتناول جميع جوانب شخصية روح بن زنباع الجذامي ودوره في الحياة العامة في الفترة التي عاش فيه. وقد أظهرت الدراسة أن روح بن زنباع الفلسطيني كان شخصية عامة لهبت دورا مهما في مختلف نواحي الحياة، وقد كان روح سيدا لقبيلته جذام وله تأثير كبير فيهم، كما كان روح بن زنباع معتدا بكرامته لا يقبل الضيم.

    آثر القدس في الصراع بين المسلمين والمسيحين ببلاد الشام بعد وفاة صلاح الدين حتى سقوط الدولة الأيوبية: 588 - 648 هـ / 1192 - 1250م

    هذه الدراسة هي محاولة لبيان أثر القدس في الصراع الإسلامي المسيحي، والصراع بين أمراء البيت الأيوبي، بعد وفاة صلاح الدين الأيوبي وحتى سقوط الدولة الأيوبية، وتبيان دورها الهام في التأثير على تحديد مواقف الأطراف المختلفة وتشكيل التحالفات السياسية المختلفة، فتتناول أثر القدس في قيام الحملة الصليبية الخامسة والمفاوضات التي جرت بشأنها خلال الحملة، وتأثيرها في الحملة الصليبية السادسة، والمفاوضات بشأنها بين الملك الكامل والإمبراطور فردريك حتى تسليمها للإمبراطور ورد الفعل على ذلك، ثم أثرها على المراحل المتأخرة من الحكم لأيوبي. كلمات مفتاحية : (القدس، الأيوبيين والقدس، الملك الكامل والقدس، المفاوضات حول القدس، التنازل عن القدس).

    الثورات والفتن في فلسطين اسم الباحث الثاني :2 واألردن من -1449 /هـ 922 – 849 1516

    شهدت فلسطين والأردن في النصف الثاني من القرن التاسع وأوائل القرن العاشر الهجريين / الخامس عشر والسادس عشر الميلاديين العديد من الفتن والثورات شاركت فيها القبائل البدوية وعائلات العشير، كما شارك فيها الفالحون وسكان املدن ونواب الدولة المملوكية، وكان بعضها بين القبائل نفسها وبين عائلات العشير، وبعضها الأخر ضد الدولة المملوكية، وقد انضم بعضها إلى الثورة بينما وقف بعضها الأخر مع الدولة، وقد استخدمت الدولة القوة العسكرية لإخمادها لتعود مرة أخرى. وقد أدت هذه الثورات والفتن إلى إضعاف الدولة المملوكية عسكريا واقتصاديا، ومقتل المئات من السكان وتدهور أوضاعهم الاقتصادية والمعيشية. كلمات مفتاحية: فتن، ثورات، فلسطين، الأردن، العصر المملوكي.

    Systems and methods for cognitive diagnostics for neurological disorders: parkinson's disease and comorbid depression

    A system for diagnosing a neurological disorder, Parkinson's Disease, and a comorbid mental health condition, major depressive disorder is provided. The system comprises a smart device and a device including a memory and a processor. The smart device allows a participant to perform a cognitive task and the device receives data collected from the smart device in connection with the cognitive task performed by the participant. The device determines whether the participant has Parkinson's Disease based on the data collected and via a classification algorithm. If the participant has Parkinson's Disease, the device determines whether the participant has comorbid major depressive disorder.

    عقوبة النفي في العصر المملوكي 923-648هـ. / 1516-1250م.

    تتناول الدراسة هذه الدراسة عقوبة النفي في العصر المملوكي 618-900هـ/2052-2526م، من حيث رتبة أو وظيفة الشخص المنفي، والمكان الذي نفي إليه، مع توضيح الأسباب التي أدت إلى نفي حيثما وجدت. كما تستعرض الطريقة التي كان يتم فها معاملة من يتم نفيهم سواء أكان ذلك بالتضييق عليهم أو عدمه، أو عندما كان يتم ترتيبه لهم مما يكفيهم، أو حتى ما كان ينعم به على بعضهم من اقطاعات ووظائف. كلمات مفتاحية: النفي في العصر المملوكي، عقوبة النفي، القدس مكان للنفي.

    جان بردي الغزالي وعلاقته مع القبائل العربية في نيابة دمشق (الشام): 922 - 926 هـ/1516 - 1520م

    تتناول هذه الدراسة علاقة جان بردي الغزالي مع القبائل العربية في نيابة دمشق (الشام) في الفترة من 922 – 926 هـ/1516 – 1520م، بعد تعيينه نائبا عليها في بداية العصر العثماني، فيستعرض المناصب التي تولاها قبل تعينه نائبا على الشام، ثم يتطرق لعلاقته مع القبائل العربية بعد توليه النيابة مثل بني لام وحملاته العسكرية عليها بسبب مهاجمتها لقافلة الحج الشامي. كما يتناول علاقته مع آل الحنش الذين ظلوا على ولائهم للماليك حتى بعد هزيمتهم في معركة مرج دابق. كما يستعرض علاقته مع قبائل فلسطين التي اتخذت مواقف متباينة منه سواء خلال نيابته على دمشق أو بعد إعلان تمرده على الدولة العثمانية. كلمات مفتاحية: جان بردي الغزالي، نيابة الشام في العصر العثماني، القبائل العربية في العصر العثماني.

    Relations Between the Arab Tribes in Palestine and Transjordan from the Frankish Occupation until the End of the Mamluk Era (583-922 AH / 1087-1516 CE

    Abstract: This study investigates the relations between the Arab tribes that inhabited Palestine and Trans Jordan during the periods of the Frankish (Crusader) occupation of the Levant, the Ayy bid State and the Mamluk State. The study reveals the role of these tribes in these relations, on the one hand and the displacement and mutual movement of the people of these two regions, despite their blood ties, on the other hand. The importance of this study stems from the fact that its subject has not been thoroughly and clearly discussed, to the best knowledge of the author of this paper.     The role of Al-Quds University library in developing scientific research in the digital environment

    The digital milieu and the age of information and modern technologies constitute a major challenge in the process of building and strengthening the capabilities of scholars and university students alike in production and scientific research. This is mainly due to the competition it imposes which bears a leadership character for the nature of the required scientific and intellectual production, and the entailed research performance. The study objective aims to identify the role of Al-Quds University library in developing scientific research in the digital environment. The study results showed the essential role that Al-Quds University library plays in supporting the academic process, developing scientific research, and popularizing the scientific publishing culture among university students. The authors recommend the need to keep pace with technological developments adding and purchasing new electronic information sources that meet the needs of its beneficiaries, and to provide budgets allocated for new subscriptions to international scientific journals of high rating.
