Abstract
The study aimed to identify the cognitive method (risk- caution) of the
students of Al-Quds University. The sample of the study included (380) male
and female students. It was selected by the stratified random method. The
researcher used the correlation approach as a convenient to the nature of the
problem and its goals. The tool was verified by the total degree of the stability
coefficient of the study fields according to Alpha Cronbach. The total degree
for the cognitive method (risk and caution) of Al-Quds University students
was (0.72) and (0.86) which indicated the future anxiety. The results of the
study showed that the degree of the cognitive method towards the caution
method indicated a moderate level. The level of the future anxiety showed
also a moderate level. The study showed that there was a negative inverse
correlation between the cognitive method (risk) and the level of future anxiety
whereas there was a positive correlation between the degree of the cognitive
method (caution) and the level of the future anxiety. The study also indicated
that there were differences in the cognitive method (risk – caution) referred to
the gender variable towards caution among the male students.
There were no differences in the cognitive method (risk – caution) referred to
the faculty variable and the academic level whereas there were differences
referred to the cumulative average towards the caution method in average(less
than 75).
The study showed that there were no differences in the level of the future
anxiety between Al-Quds university students referred to the variables of
gender and faculty whereas there were statistically significant differences in
the level of the future anxiety among the students referred to the academic
