Abstract
The study aimed to examine the strategies of civil organizations with their dimensions
represented in (funding, programs, projects, and activities) in order to know their role in
empowering women in the southern Palestinian governorates.
The study relied on the descriptive and analytical approach to know the role of NGOs'
strategies in empowering Palestinian women, the study used both the questionnaire and the
focus groups tools, to collect primary data, the questionnaire was applied to workers in the
Union of Health Work Committees, the study population was represented by (50) employees
Of the workers in the upper and middle management of the Union of Health Work
Committees, and the researcher followed the method of comprehensive enumeration of the
employees, So, (50) questionnaires were distributed in addition to implementing (5) focus
groups with women benefiting from the services of the Union of Health Work Committees.
The study found a set of results, the most important of which is the existence of a positive
and statistically significant impact of civil organizations ’strategies in empowering women
in the southern Palestinian governorates, through only the "projects’ dimension", where its
impact reached (0.649)
While there is no significant statistical impact of the dimensions: (financing, programs,
activities) in empowering women, in addition to the absence of differences in the
respondents 'responses about the variables of the NGOs' strategies and the empowerment of
women due to the demographic variables.
The study concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which were: The
need to enhance effective participation between civil organizations, government institutions
and actors from the public and those interested in making more efforts that aimed at
promoting the empowerment of Palestinian women.
In addition to recommending decision-makers and public policies to the necessity of
enacting legislation and laws and monitoring their implementation to ensure the necessary
protection of Palestinian women, preserving their human rights and ensuring their right to
effective participation in all fields of social, economic and political life in order to achieve
comprehensive development in Palestinian society.
