Abstract
This study aims to know the factors which reinforce competitiveness of the small and medium projects in the Jericho and the Ghors Governorate. The study used the descriptive exploratory methodology in order to achieve the aims of the study , and in order to provide the owners of small and medium projects with the necessary recommendations and suggestions to the decision makers. In other to collect the necessary information for this study, a questionnaire was designed . It was distributed on the population of the study consisting of owners and managers of the small and medium projects in the Jericho and the Ghors Governorate. The number of the population of the study was (586) projects according to the classification of the Bureau of Commerce in Jericho and the Ghors. The random stratified sample was chosen. The population of the study was divided into three classes and a percentage of (30%) was taken from each class. The size of the sample was (175). The number of the questionnaires which were valid for analysis was (165), and they were statistically analyzed according to the Statistical Packages For Social Sciences. The study reached numerous results, the most prominent of which are the demand factors which are represented in the fact that the owners and managers of the projects take interest in the qualities and specifications of the product in order to increase the size of demand for their products, and that the high response to the needs of the customer helps the demand to grow and that their products enjoy high confidence by the clients, in addition there is awareness by the clients concerning the quality of the products . As for the factors of supply they were represented by the fact that there are systems of communications, data bases and modern and developed machines, and the owner of the project can obtain workforce at reasonable wages and bank financing to expand his project. As for the supporting parties, they were represented by the fact that there are local companies which market the products , in addition there is cooperation between the projects and the local insurance institutions. There is cooperation with a little proportion between the projects and the research and training centers, because of their high cost. 1As for the role of the government, it works in turn to encourage and increase the projects. The governmental tax exemptions contributed in improving the financial situation of the projects. The government provides the necessary infrastructure for the projects through providing electricity, water, roads, safety and security. The government supports import and export for the projects. The structure of competitiveness, the products of the projects enjoy the ability to compete the products locally with a big degree, whereas the external products have a small degree. As for competiveness, it contributes in reinforcing innovation of the products for these projects and working on developing them. There is high freedom for the competitors in the market, and there is a large number of competitors in .
