Abstract
The study aimed to identify the impact of economic intelligence, represented by its dimensions including strategic vigilance, information security and protection, influencing policies, on organizational prosperity. To achieve this, the study was applied on the Palestinian banks operating in the Southern Governorates of Palestine. The study employed the descriptive-analytical approach, and the researcher collected primary data through questionnaire and structured interviews designed to achieve the purpose of the study. The study community was employees working on licensed banks operating in the Southern Governorates i.e. (10) banks, and it was represented by the study sample i.e. (158) employees working at the selected banks. The researcher followed simple random sampling method. The researcher distributed (158) questionnaires among the study sample, a total of (132) questionnaires were retrieved and used for analysis purposes. Additionally, the researcher used structured interviews as another primary data source. The researcher conducted (6) structured interviews with senior management employees at the selected banks, whether incoming or local working in the southern governorates. The study came out with a number of results mainly a high positive evaluation about the level of availability of dimensions of economic intelligence within the licensed Palestinian banks operating in the Southern Governorates is present. The total level of application of the economic intelligence dimensions in the selected banks was (82%). Moreover, the results indicated a high level of organizational prosperity, where the relative weight for this level reached (80.8%). In addition, the results showed a positive moral effect with statistical significance for all dimensions of economic intelligence, represented by (strategic vigilance, information security and protection, influencing policies) on organizational prosperity in the selected banks operating in the Southern Governorates of Palestine. The study recommended the necessity for the Palestinian Monetary Authority, as a supervisory and supervisory body, to adopt the concept of economic intelligence and enhance it in the banking environment. And that banks should create a specialized unit for economic intelligence in their organizational structure. The unit’s main responsibility is to provide and evaluate significance strategic information, and build scenarios relevant to banks’ future businesses. Consequently, expected risk rates can be reduced.
