Abstract
The study aimed to identify the reality of crisis management and its impact on the sustainability of institutional performance in light of the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic (Corona) in the municipalities of the southern West Bank, To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher prepared a questionnaire consisting of (40) items distributed to an intended sample of the study population, consisting of (162) of whom (128) managers in the municipalities of the southern West Bank. And (34) mayors, according to local government statistics for the year 2021, (127) questionnaires were retrieved, with a recovery rate of 78%. After collecting the necessary data, statistical processing was carried out using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The results of the study revealed that the degree of response of the sample members was average about crisis management in its three dimensions, where its arithmetic mean was (3.41) with a standard deviation (0.39), and the respondents' attitudes towards sustainability were. Where the arithmetic mean of the total scores was (3.38). The overall standard deviation is (0.514), and the results showed that there is no substantive impact of crisis management and therefore no impact of the crisis planning process and emergency plans, and for the application of crisis and emergency management plans on the sustainability of performance. While the results showed a significant impact of the practices during the crisis on the sustainability of institutional performance in the municipalities of the southern West Bank. While the results indicated a statistically significant relationship at the significance level (α≤ 0.05), between the level of crisis management (crisis planning and plans, emergency situations, practices during the crisis, the reality of applying crisis and emergency management plans after the crisis) and the sustainability of institutional performance (economic , environmental & social) for workers in the municipalities of the southern West Bank. The study recommended the senior administration in the municipalities of the southern West Bank to pay attention to the crisis management team, develop its capabilities, and work to overcome the obstacles in front of it. In addition to defining and reviewing the powers of the team periodically, and dealing with crises as opportunities to review, improve and correct the existing situation within the municipalities, by setting clear goals that the relevant authorities seek to achieve, and strengthening the team through the inclusion of experienced and effective people. The study recommended the necessity of exploiting the available resources and establishing communication channels between the different departments to unify the efforts and experiences of workers with each other in the face of any emergency or crisis. ..
