- ItemAssessment of Mothers' Awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Safe Infant Sleep Practices in Palestine(Deanship of Research/ Al-Quds University, 2024-04-01) Inas Yaghmour; Hadeel Shamasna; Ghayda Hijazi; Zeinab Shalan; Omar AlmahmoudOne of the major public health mysteries around the world is a subcategory of infant sleep- related deaths of unknown etiology termed Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) which is a common leading cause of infant mortality worldwide and targets infants under a year of age while sleeping. Sleep environment plays a significant role in the risk of SIDS, otherwise mothers' actions for creating safe infant sleep practices plays a protective role in reducing SIDS occurrence. The knowledge gap centered on SIDS is not adequately researched or investigated in Palestine. Correspondingly, the study aims to assess mothers' awareness of SIDS and safe infant sleep practices.

- ItemDetection of Acute Stroke Using the Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score (ASPECTS)(Deanship of Research/ Al-Quds University, 2024-04-01) Hala Ahmad Othman Khateeb; Haneen Mohammad Terawi; Wafaa Shwiky; Nagham Salman; Alaa Abutair; Assel Natsheh; Ala' ThawabtehIn 2022, cerebral strokes ranked fourth as the leading cause of death in the Palestinian Ministry of Health, accounting for 11% of all deaths. The Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score (ASPECTS) is a quick, semi-quantitative way to assess ischemic lesions and predict prognosis in patients with ischemic stroke. It is a straightforward, reliable method for evaluating early ischemic changes in the blood supply region of the middle and posterior cerebral arteries. The primary basis for this strategy is the visual observation of doctors. However, the low inter-reader agreement could lead to mistakes in the final diagnosis because of the doctor's varying degrees of experience. To aid medical professionals in their diagnosis and assessment, this work proposes the use of non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) as the basis for the ASPECTS technique of acute ischemic stroke.
- ItemFood Hygiene Practices in Food Restaurants(Deanship of Research/ Al-Quds University, 2024-04-01) Shereen Adeb Hroub; Enas Zaher Hroub; Wesam Mahmoud SammarFood safety is a system that encompasses the handling, preparation, and storage of food in ways that prevent the transmission of contaminants. Food spoilage can lead to food poisoning, which is a common condition resulting from the consumption of contaminated food. Shawarma (cooked meat) also called shawarma, shawerma, and Kebab is one of the common fast-food meals consumed by most people. However, this meal may cause a health risk to the consumer due to its potential to contain harmful microorganisms, this is often a result of inadequate cooking processes and general hygiene practices.
