To achieve that goal, the study identified the factors that influenced the demand for the higher studies at Al-Quds University; (the geographic, the economic, political, social factors, added to the university policy factor). The study was conducted on the first year students at Al-Quds University for the academic year (2015-2016). A random sample of (217) students among (3400) students (male and female) was selected. The descriptive analytical method and the questionnaire were used as a main tool to collect data from the study population. In addition, the researcher used the (SPSS) to analyze the data and to come into the study results. The test of (ANOVA) analysis and the multiple regression analysis were also used in the study. The results of the study showed that the most prominent factor was the political factor. Meanwhile, the variables of (geographic, economic, political, social and the university policy) showed a statistically significant effect on the demand for the higher studies at AlQuds University, while the variables of (residence and gender) had no statistically significant effects. The study recommended that appropriate conditions should be created at the university as a result of the unstable political conditions under which the Palestinian people live and particularly at Al-Quds University. Moreover, the necessity to support the financial facilities programs for the students so that they could cover their fees without affecting their educational attainment. It also affirmed that the students’ academic activities and the higher studies completion of the elite students should be expanded positively. Finally, the study indicated the need to enhance the confidence of the local community through creating voluntary activities that include all the society segments.
