Abstract
This study analyzes the challenges and obstacles faced by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in obtaining financing in Palestine. It highlights the economic importance of SMEs as a major contributor to employment and economic development, while identifying key constraints that hinder their growth and sustainability. Using a qualitative survey of managers and owners of 35 Palestinian SMEs, the study examines financial, institutional, and environmental barriers to accessing credit. The findings indicate that the most significant obstacles include weak representative organizations for small businesses, lack of legal frameworks and incentives, limited access to financing, inadequate infrastructure, and constraints related to political and economic instability. The study emphasizes the need for supportive policies, improved financial systems, and institutional reforms to enhance SME financing and promote sustainable economic development in Palestine.
