Abstract
The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of behavioral training program in decreasing behavioral and emotional disorders among youth with Intellectualdisability. In order to achieve the goals of this study, the researcher developed a behavioral and emotional estimating tool. It was composed of 6 dimensions. They are aggression, behavior, hyperactivity and attention deficit, social withdrawal, stubbornness, commitment to law and rules, stress and continuous pressure. This tool was presented to specialized arbitrators to prove its validity and reliability through applying it on a chosen group. This group was chosen from the population not the sample. Then a Holisti equation was done to observe the variables. The sample was youth with a moderate intellectual disability. They were chosen intentionally from Al Malath charitable society; to determine the behavioral and emotional problems for them by applying (pre test). According to the pre-test result, the researcher targeted the main three dimensions that got the highest mean and items that got moderate mean of 2.34 and above for each member; to achieve short and long term goals. The researcher has applied the behavioral training program that was revised by many specialists of special education. The training program was composed of 21 groups and individual training sessions with different activities and behavioral modification strategies such as differential reinforcement, modeling, repetition, feedback, prompting, and reinforcement schedules. The sample received the behavioral training program sessions. Then, a post-test was applied on them. Also, virtual interview was applied with the sample’s family to elicit their perspectives toward the effectiveness of the training program. The result showed the effectiveness of the behavioral training program in decreasing the behavioral and emotional disorder among youth with Intellectual disability. The mean of males was higher than the mean of females in the whole dimensions exceptthe commitment to law and rules one. Also, the mean of ages (26-30) was (1.31). It was higher than the mean of the ages (20-26) which was (1.20) for the whole dimensions.
