Abstract
This study aimed to find out the relationship between visual thinking and scientific sense among ninth grade students in the Hebron governorate. The researcher used the correlational descriptive method as it relates to the nature of this study. Where the views of ninth grade students in the Hebron governorate were surveyed about the relationship of visual thinking and scientific sense from their point of view. The study population consisted of the ninth grade students in the schools of the North Hebron District, whose number is (2,935) students for the academic year 2020/2021. The study sample consisted of (576) students from the ninth grade in the Hebron governorate, who were chosen by the random cluster sampling method, and the sample represented (20%) of the study population, and two tools were used in this study, namely the visual reasoning test and the sense scale Scientific (a questionnaire of the affective aspects of the scientific sense), and the validity and reliability of each of them were confirmed . The necessary statistical treatment of the data was carried out by extracting numbers, percentages, arithmetic means, and standard deviations of the sample members and their responses to the measures (visual thinking, scientific sense). The study hypotheses were examined through the following statistical tests: (T) test, and the Pearson correlation coefficient. (Pearson Correlation). The reliability factor Cronbach alpha was also used to calculate the stability of the instrument, using a computer using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program. The most important results of the study: The overall degree of visual reasoning among ninth grade students in the Hebron governorate was low, and the presence of statistically significant differences in the mean visual thinking among ninth grade students in the Hebron governorate attributed to the variable (gender) and in favor of (females) There are no statistically significant differences at the level (α ≤0.05) in the averages of the level of visual thinking among the ninth grade students in the Hebron governorate depending on the school type variable on the various visual thinking skills, and the level of scientific sense among the ninth grade students in the Hebron governorate came with a degree Medium, the presence of statistically significant differences in the mean scientific sense among ninth grade students in the Hebron governorate due to the variable (gender) and in favor of (males), There are no statistically significant differences at the level (α ≤0.05) in the mean level of scientific sense among the ninth grade students in the Hebron governorate according to the school type variable on the total degree of scientific sense, and there is a direct statistically significant relationship between the total degree of visual reasoning and the total score For a scientific sense . The researcher recommended paying attention to the development of visual thinking skills and the scientific sense of students and the development of visual thinking in addition to the scientific sense of their correlation with a positive relationship as stated in the results of the study, as well as providing students with activities that stimulate their visual thinking.
