As data has become a source of business and important resources in organizations and institutions, interest has increased in business intelligence technologies and systems, which have become one of the influential tools owned by private sector organizations and institutions, in order to increase effectiveness of their activities and ensure their advanced competitive position, in addition to their ability to seizing opportunities and avoiding potential future threats based on the available data. The government sector is like any other sector, in which data and information constitute a source and a focal point that cannot be underestimated, and from the light of this increasing volume of data and information in government sector institutions, it comes the importance of this study which aims at knowing the degree of the application of business intelligence techniques represented in ( data, data storage, and data analysis), and its role in the Palestinian governmental sector work in terms of (decision-making and decision-taking, quality and improvement of services, resource rationalization and management, and leadership and innovation). The study adopted the descriptive and analytical approach, and the study population was identified from the employees in the position of director or above and employees of the departments and sections of information technology in the Palestinian government sector, which was divided into three main layers: (Palestinian ministries, governorate offices, institutions and other governmental bodies), The study population consisted of (7873) employees distributed into: (4,743) employees with a manager’s rank or above and (3130) employees working in departments and sections of information technology. A stratified random sample was taken from the study population with a size of (366), the rate of recovery was (86.3%). The results of the study showed that there is a positive relationship between work in the government sector in terms of the studied dimensions and the existence and application of business intelligence elements. The most influential technology in this relationship was the data analysis technique, where the increase in the level of application of this technology by one unit, will affect the work in the government sector by (28.3%). Accordingly; the study recommended, at the governmental institution level, to the necessity of continuous working toward the integration and activation of business intelligence elements in the government sector to reach a methodology that achieves business intelligence and benefit from its outputs in government work, in addition to setting clear and specific standards for classifying data and information in the institution’s data stores, which facilitates retrieval and analysis processes. The study also introduced several recommendations for the government sector as a whole, the most important of which is sharing data and information between Palestinian governmental institutions, cleaning and integrating these data and putting them in the service of work and improving it, in addition to the need to build central databases that include all data and information received from all Palestinian governmental institutions as well as from other institutions, and setting standards and laws that regulate the access of the contained data, in a manner that does not affect the security and privacy of this data and in a way that serves the interest of the business
