Abstract
This study aims to explore the strategies of managing the spread of the Corona epidemic
(COVID -19) crisis in Palestine, and to study the health sector. The researcher uses the
descriptive exploratory approach. The study population consists of all the managers working
in hospitals and health directorates of the Palestinian Ministry in the West Bank; numbering
165, from which a stratified random sample of (117) managers was taken. To achieve the
objectives of the study, the researcher uses a questionnaire distributed as a tool to collect data
from the study sample. (110) retrieved questionnaires were good for statistical analysis. After
verifying the validity and reliability of the tool, the appropriate statistical analysis was done;
the study reaches the following results: The Palestinian Ministry of Health has adopted a
strategy to manage the crisis of the spread of the Corona epidemic (COVID-19) in Palestine
(has a high degree). The results reveal that the most important crisis management strategies
used in managing the spread of the crisis of Corona epidemic (COVID-19) in Palestine was
the strategy for using crisis management teams. The results indicate that the effectiveness of
the policies and measures taken and approved by the government to manage the crisis of the
spread of the Corona epidemic (COVID-19) in Palestine has also a high degree. The results
reveal the existence of a direct, statistically significant correlation between the strategies for
managing the crisis of the spread of the Corona epidemic (COVID-19) and the policies and
procedures taken and approved by the government to manage the crisis. There is an impact of
the strategy of using crisis management teams on managing the crisis of the spread of
(COVID19) epidemic in Palestine. It is also found that there is no effect of adopting the
strategies of changing course, the strategy of breaking up the crisis, and the strategy of
emptying the crisis for crisis management on managing the crisis of the spread (COVID-19)
epidemic in Palestine. Finally, the results reveal that there are no statistically significant
differences between the average estimates of the study sample individuals towards building an
effective crisis management strategy to confront the spread of the (COVID-19) epidemic in
Palestine due to the variables of (gender, age, and years, experience and place of work). There
are many differences in the variable of job title and participation in emergency committees.
There is no statistically significant differences in the study sample average estimates towards
policies and procedures of the management of the Corona Crisis (COVID-19) to confront the
spread of the epidemic (COVID-19) in Palestine, that are attributed to the variables of
(educational qualification, years of experience, place of work, job title, and participation in
emergency committees). On the other hand, there are statistically significant differences in the
average estimates of the study sample members towards the policies and procedures for
managing the Corona crisis (COVID-19) to confront the spread of the (COVID-19) epidemic
in Palestine due to the gender variable. The study came out with a set of recommendations and
proposals, the most important of which are: The government should enhance material and
human resources working in the health sector. It should build a health system, which is able to
face crises that may occur in the future., and providing a strong and integrated health
infrastructure that enables the parties of the crisis to respond quickly, prepare to manage the
crisis and emerge with the least damage and losses.
