Abstract
The study aimed to identify the investment in scientific research in the universities of Hebron Governorate and its relationship to knowledge management from the point of view of academic staff from the year 2019/2020, and to identify investment in scientific research and its relationship to knowledge management in its dimensions (finding and communicating knowledge, acquiring knowledge, storing knowledge, sharing knowledge. The application of knowledge) in the universities of the Hebron Governorate, and to identify the level of difference in the degrees of the average responses of the academic staff in the universities of the Hebron Governorate towards the investment of scientific research and its relationship to knowledge management attributable to the demographic variables (the university, the academic degree, years of experience, college, nature of work).
The scientific importance of the current study is to shed light on the investment of scientific research in the universities of the Hebron Governorate (Hebron University, Palestine Polytechnic, Al-Quds Open, Jerusalem / Dora Branch) in particular from the academic point of view, as it shows its importance in focusing on scientific research and what it yields. Of the effects on society represented in its development, and directing current researchers to focus on the role of scientific research through universities in building societies and avoiding many losses at all different levels. The study dealt with its topic as a multidimensional phenomenon, which was dealt with by theoretical and field research, and it did not focus on it until after One, where the scarcity of studies linking the variable of research and scientific investment and knowledge management according to the researcher's knowledge.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach and the questionnaire were used as a tool to collect data, which consisted of (64) items, distributed in two fields, and were applied to the academic staff in the universities of Hebron Governorate, who numbered (632) employees. (240) A valid questionnaire for analysis, and after verifying the validity of the questionnaire by submitting it to a panel of arbitrators, and the validity of the questionnaire using the Cronbach Alpha coefficient, and the half partition method, it was statistically processed using the Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS) program. The study revealed many results, the most important of which are:
It was found that the total score in the field of scientific research investment is high with an arithmetic mean of (3.77) and the total score for the field of knowledge management is high with an arithmetic mean (3.83), and the largest degree of the knowledge management field dimensions is knowledge acquisition, then knowledge storage, followed by knowledge sharing, then knowledge application and finally Finding and communicating knowledge.
It was found that there is a positive statistically significant relationship at the level of significance (α≤0.05) between the impact of scientific research investment and the dimensions of knowledge management in the universities of Hebron Governorate, and it was found that there are statistically significant differences from the level of significance (α≤0.05) in the degrees of average responses of academic employees in The universities of Hebron governorate towards the investment of scientific research and its impact on knowledge management due to the gender variable in favor of the male level, and there are differences in the university variable in the field of scientific research investment, while there are no differences in the university variable in the field of knowledge management in favor of Palestine Polytechnic University, and it was found that there are differences in the variable Years of experience belong to the benefit of those whose experience is (6-10). There are also differences in the variable of the faculty and the differences are due to the variable of the level of the college (scientific), while it was found that there are no differences in the two fields according to the variable of the degree.
The researcher recommended a number of recommendations, the most important of which are: Providing an appropriate environment that encourages scientific research and innovation by adopting rewarding and encouraging financial and moral incentives and rewards, focusing on joint university work through joint research and research teams, facilitating the researcher's task in communicating and publishing research in relevant journals High reputation, working to link higher education institutions and universities with society, and its institutions in financing scientific research, supporting research visits between Palestinian universities and international universities to exchange experiences and benefit from their scientific experiences in investing scientific research and their impact on knowledge management, monitoring the necessary financial budgets allocated for scientific research, and consolidating The perception that spending on scientific research is not a waste of money but rather that it is the most profitable type of investment.
