| dc.description.abstract | This study purpose is to explore the impact of land Settlements on sustainable development in the northern Palestinian governorates (West Bank) Taking into consideration the historical and political background of the land Settlements , the research has focused on the main research question : What are the major implications of land settlements on sustainable development in the northern Palestinian governorates (West Bank)? The researcher used the descriptive method through tracking My history of the land settlement process in addition to reviewing the literature and interviewing an intentional sample of 15 employees of the settlement and land area, (15) people from the departments of the settlement departments to answer the main research question "What is the impact of land settlement on sustainable development"? The results have shown that there is great economic importance as land settlement increases its economic value and investment opportunities, and there is a social dimension to preserve property, reduce conflicts, and protect women's rights. The subject of the settlement suffers from political problems as it does not include the areas threatened by confiscation by the occupation or areas classified as “C”. The study proved that there is a political risk in not registering these lands and settling their ownership as according to the law property will belong to the state and in this case the state is the occupying state . And that the registration of the land was largely positive in helping citizens find solutions to their economic problems through the use of the lands registered as a mortgage to the bank or otherwise. The settlement also worked to remove common denominations, resolve family disputes, and establish rights for all, and have a legal argument before the various courts. The settlement process also preserved the rights of Arab investors inside the settlement areas by confirming the properties and transferring them from absentee properties to properties in the names of these people to dispose of them according to what they see fit, and happened with the Kuwaiti brothers who have properties in the West Bank by submitting their property certificates through the Palestinian embassy in Kuwait The study came out with several recommendations, including: Working to accelerate the settlement processes and procedures and expanding settlement operations in the areas where settlements were not made, by educating citizens that the settlement is not aimed at collecting taxes but rather settling disputes, confirming ownership and encouraging citizens to invest. Work to expedite the taking of decisions in land disputes in order to reduce disputes between individuals and promote civil peace, as well as provide a sufficient number of judges competent in the subject matter of the settlement in order to expedite the settlement of disputes between people over rights to the disputed lands. Paying attention to the awareness side of the settlement process in the northern governorates in order to increase the demand for settlement operations for lands in different regions. Work on creating plans that show the infrastructure projects for these lands in order to work in the future on providing them, especially in residential lands. | en |
