أثر برنامج مقترح قائم على برمجية جيوجيبرا (GeoGebra) في تدريس وحدة الاقترانات ورسومها البيانية لدى طلبة الصف العاشر الأساسي في تنمية التفكير الهندسي وقدرتهم المكانية

The study aimed to investigate the effect of using “GeoGebra” program in teaching functions and their graph on developing the geometrical thinking and the spatial abilities of tenth graders. The study has been conducted on 10th grade students at public schools in the Directorate of South Hebron (3874 male and female students). The purposive sample was(110) students from AL-Rehiyya Secondary School for Boys and AL-Rehiyya Secondary School for Girls in which were divided into four groups. Each school has two groups in two classrooms – experimental group and control group. The experimental group was taught by using the “GeoGebra” program, where as the control group was taught by the traditional method. The study used two instruments: Test of geometrical thinking levels and aspatial abilities test. Arithmetic means, Standard deviation and (Two-way ANCOVA) analysis of variance were used in the study to identify the effect of this program. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences in the responses of the students due to the teaching method in favor of the experimental group. They also showed there were statistically significant differences in the responses of the students in the test of geometrical thinking levels due to gender in favor of females. They also showed there weren’t statistically significant differences in the responses of the students in the spatial abilities test due to the gender variable and there weren’t statistically significant differences in the responses of the students in the test of geometrical thinking and the spatial abilities due to the interaction between the method and the gender variables. Based on the results, the study recommended to adopt the program of the GeoGebra for the proven in the study of the impact on the development of levels of geometrical thinking and spatial abilities of the students. It also recommended to provide teachers with training sessions about “GeoGebra” program in order to use it in teaching math for primary and secondary students. Also more studies should be conducted on more units in other math’s curriculum and different variables from this study.
