| dc.description.abstract | This study aims at examining the community police role in maintaining security. The study well shed light on its role in maintaing security in the suburbs of Jerusalem governorate, to explain its success factors, its ablity to reduce behavioral deviations, prevent crime, maintain peace in cumunity, and promote faith and loyalty, in order to support police institutions. This is done by examining the community police aplity to maintain security, the obstacles they encountere during there missions in general. The study also aims at providing decision-makers with recommendations and suggestions necessary to highlight the importance of community police in mintaing security. To achieve the objectives of the study, a descriptive exploratory approach was used, which most fits the study, depinding on primary sources. To this end, a questionnaire was designed to obtain the necessary data for this study, which was distributed to the study sample of (48) employees working in government institutions in the suburbs of Jerusalem, using deliberate sampling. The study provides an analysis of the questions in four chpters. Chapter one discussed the study plan. In chapter tow the resarcher tackled the conceptual framework of the study, and in chapter three methodology of the study. Chpter four gives a statistical analysis of the initial information of the study, whereas the fifth chapter discusses the study questions. ط The study reached the following results: The police community ability to promote faith and loyalty got the highest arithmetic averages of (3.78), followed by their ablity to reduce behavioral deviations in ordrer to pevent crimes, which got an arithmetic averages of (73.3). Their ability to maintain peace in cumunity got an arithmetic averages of (72.1). Finally their success factors in the suburbs of Jerusalem governorate, got an arithmetic averages of (71.2). In the light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following: 1. Istablishing three mobile offices for the community police. 2. Istablishing an association for the police friends and initiating process of enrollment for citzens. 3. Istablishing a local council in each police station. 4. Extend the term of service for police officers inorder to bulid cofidence with citzens. 5. Make use of the experience of retired officers, by enrolling them in volintary work. 6. The inclusion of crime prevention in the education curriculum, that should be tought by police officers. Creation of Civil Peace units in the palestianan governorates, and to headed by graduates of law or Social Science. 7. There is also a need of further studies on the role and importance of police community in preventing crime and maintaining security. | en |
