Abstract
The study aimed at identifying the degree of commitment among the Palestinian judges in
Hebron governorate courts to the principles of business ethics (honesty, integrity, justice,
judicial responsibility, and judicial code of conduct) and their impact on their job
performance. The study also aimed at identifying the level of their functional performance.
The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach. In order to achieve the
objectives of the study, he designed a questionnaire based on the previous studies and the
judicial code of conduct in Palestine. The questionnaire included 25 items on the principles
of business ethics. The questionnaire was divided into 5 areas: (honesty, integrity, justice,
judicial responsibility, and judicial code of conduct). It has also another 12 items on the
functional performance. The questionnaire was administered by five arbitrators from the
faculty of Al-Quds University and Hebron University. Some of the questionnaire items
were modified according to the views of the arbitrators. The questionnaire was distributed
to the study sample that contained (50) employees and (221) lawyers, who were selected
by random stratified sample. The study population consisted of (170) employees and
lawyers of the Magistrate Court in Hebron Governorate and (750) lawyers. Total of (253)
responses were restored representing (84.3%). The questionnaire was computed using
SPSS.
