    Background: Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by high peripheral glucose levels. The global prevalence of T2DM is expected to increase to 7079 individuals per 100,000 by 2030, indicating a significant public health concern . In Qatar, the prevalence of T2DM among adults was approximately 17% in 2019 , highlighting the need for studies regarding the changes in persons with T2DM to improve clinical assessment and management.

    Background: Adequate nutrition in childhood is important for proper neurodevelopment, also it is important for the growth and development of the immune system by supporting it against illness and infections as well as increasing quality of life. Cancer rates are increasing worldwide, and the occurrence of this disease is affected by nutritional factors (diet, nutrition, and exercise). Poor nutritional knowledge, behavior, practices, and awareness of caregivers of children with cancer are disturbing. It has been found that nutritional knowledge might help these patients to adopt healthy eating patterns. In the Middle East generally and Palestine especially, there are few studies on this topic. The study aims to assess nutritional knowledge, practices, and behaviors among pediatric oncology caregivers in Augusta Victoria Hospital and Beit Jala Governmental Hospital.

    Barriers to Breast Cancer Screening in Arab Countries

    Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women worldwide. In 2020, and according to WHO, about 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer(WHO, 26 March 2021). Moreover, the highest rate of cancer mortality in women is related to breast cancer (Sung et al., 2021). Breast cancer is considered to be a public health problem in developed and developing countries. Previous studies revealed that screening can reduce the mortality rate of breast cancer, which can be done by different approaches. Moreover, the number and deaths in developing countries are increasing rapidly, and about half of the deaths are presented in these countries due to: changes in risk factors, inadequate access to breast cancer screening and deficiency of treatment (Al-Azri M, 2020, Sun, 2017). This makes early detection or screening for breast cancer a health priority. However, participation in breast cancer screening in Arab countries are considered to be very low (Alatrash, 2020). The reason for this low participation has to be studied, especially that literature on breast cancer screening in these countries is quite scarce (Donnelly et al., 2013).

    Breast Cancer Knowledge and Practice of Breast Self-Examination among Female Al-Quds University Students

    Background: Among most nations throughout the world, breast cancer is the most frequently publicly detected malignancy in women. In order to increase women's awareness, and knowledge of their breast situation and aid in the early detection of any breast abnormalities, breast self-examination (BSE) is a beneficial screening technique. This is a study designed to evaluate the level of understanding of BC, and BSE among female university students. A self-administered questionnaire was employed to gauge knowledge of breast cancer and associated topics. The study involved 202 students, 32.8% of whom were from Health professions majors, and 14.9% among them had a history of breast cancer in their families. Nearly all of the students (98.5%) were already familiar with breast cancer, having learned about it from a variety of sources, including social media as a major source (91%), educational establishments (76.1%), and other sources. Good knowledge was found for some signs, symptoms (like a lump in the breast (94%)), and risk factors of breast cancer (like a family history of BC (88%)); however, average knowledge (59%) was found for techniques for early diagnosis and care, and the procedure for BSE and 49% know when to perform it, yet only 12.9% actually execute it on a regular basis. Not having breast issues was the most barrier to BSE practice (79.9%), followed by lack of knowledge (37.1%). To raise knowledge regarding BC and BCE use, a training program should be put into place.
