Abstract
The study aimed to investigate the effect of soft skills on improving performance of public sector in Palestine . The researcher has adopted the exploratory descriptive approach to achieve the study objectives. A representation stratified random of the study is consisted of 40% individuals of 423 employees in the supervisory management level at the ministry, from all over the West Bank branches of the Interior ministry of Palestine. The questionnaire which used a 5-point Likert scale questions and was built from eight main axes, seven for the independent variable and an eighth axis for the dependent variable. The study concluded that there is a positive relationship between soft skills and performance of the ministry. The study shows that the Ministry of Interior staff possesses highly soft skills . Results also indicate, that the level of performance is of high level (was fundamentally affected by a number of soft skills (planning, team work, communication and communication ( The findings from the study revealed that, there are statistically significant differences in the level of performance attributable to one of the demographic variables, which is gender, and the differences were in favor of males. As for the rest of the variables, there are no differences. The study recommended that more soft skills be integrated into the performance management system to increase the overall performance of the Ministry.
