Abstract
The study aimed to identify the role of governance in improving the quality of healthcare services in private sector hospitals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate from the boards of directors and administrators point of view, by measuring the extent of application of governance and measuring the quality of healthcare services in those hospitals, and then examining the existence of relationship between them, To achieve the goals of this study, the descriptive approach was used, as the researcher developed a questionnaire consisting of two parts; the first part includes general and personal information about the respondents, while the second consists of two domains; principles of governance, and the quality of healthcare services. Each domain contains a set of fields where the data collection tool was formed in its Final form of (104) questions. The tool passed the stability and reliability tests, and it has been then distributed randomly to a sample of (73) employees. The collected data was processed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences Software (SPSS),The study came out with a set of results, the most important of which was that there is a major role for governance in improving the quality of healthcare services in private sector hospitals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh from the point of view of the boards of directors and administrators. Also, it was found that there were no statistically significant relationship at (α = 0.05) between the averages of the study sample's views on the reality of the application of governance in private sector hospitals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate due to the variables (gender, administrative experience, specialization, type of job). Also, there was statistically significant relationship at (α = 0.05) between the averages of the views of the study sample about the reality of the application of governance in private sector hospitals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate due to the variable of the scientific qualification. Also, it was found that there was no statistically significant relationship at (α = 0.05) between the averages of the views of the study sample on the reality of improving the quality of health services in private sector hospitals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate attributable to the variables (gender, administrative experience, specialization, type of job). Moreover, It was found that there was statistically significant relationship at (α = 0.05) Between the averages of the study sample views on the reality of improving the atmosphere of healthcare services in private sector hospitals in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate due to the variable scientific qualification, According to the results, the study recommends private sector hospitals management to continue to support the skilled doctors and provide them with what is appropriate for their efforts to enable them to provide high quality operations. Also, the study emphasizes the necessity of working by the hospitals administrations to attract skilled doctors in various specialties in order to increase patients' confidence in the hospital.
