Abstract
The aim of this study is to identify the degree of job corruption among the principals of public and private schools operating in the Jerusalem Governorate in terms of the principal’s personality, work pressures and job violations. Moreover, it aims to verify the existence of differences in the degree of job corruption among them according to their gender, academic qualification and years of experience from the teachers' point of view. The researcher uses the descriptive and analytical approach along with a questionnaire which was prepared to measure the degree of job corruption among principals from the teachers' point of view based on theoretical literature. The questionnaire consists of two main parts, the demographic variables, and (41) distributed paragraphs. The study population consists of (3970) teacher from public and private schools. A random cluster sample was selected which includes (675) teachers out of (750). Validity and reliability of the questionnaire were verified using appropriate statistical methods. The study findings indicate that the total degree of job corruption in Jerusalem Governorate schools’ principals from the point of view of public and private school teachers comes to a medium average of (3.23), and job corruption in terms of the principal’s personality, obtained the highest medium average ranking of (3.38). Job violations ranked second with an overall medium average of (3.19), and work stress ranked third، with an overall medium average of (3.13). The result of the study illustrates that there where statictical differences due to the variables of gender and the result were in favor of males, year of experience and the results were in favor of 10 years and more of experience as for the supervision it was in favor of the government schools affiliated with the Palestinian Authority and finally for the degree of studies it was in favor of people with Bachlor degrees According to the study results, the researcher proposes several recommendations, the most promint of them all is the director’s self-assessment of his behavior and work, asking for the teachers’ opinions to find ways to improve the work and the environment of the workplace, and to always clarify the tasks and duties to the teachers in good manners without being rude.
