Abstract
This study aimed at analyzing two topic (Statistics & Probabilities) in Palestinian and Jordanian mathematic textbook in light of (TIMSS) criteria. This study conducted at the first semester of (2020 / 2021), the researcher followed Analytical Descriptive Approach by using Content Analysis. The sample concludes the third grade, sixth grade, ninth grade and twelfth grade (human science), that have been taught in that year (2020 / 2021), and they are eight textbook. To achieve the goal of the study, the researcher have used analytical tool based on (TIMSS) criteria for the two topics (Statistics & Probabilities), In light of these two dimensions, the researcher investigated this tool by give it to number of referees to judge its validity and to edit it in the light of their notes, then, the researcher investigated the stability of the analysis through the stability between the analyzers and applying (Holisty equation) which was between (80% - 100%), and this is high value. To answer the study questions, the researcher collected data by the analytical tool, and then she handled it statistically by (Percentage, Frequencies and Arithmetic Averages) as well as the chi-square Analysis. The results indicated that the average over all availability ratio of (TIMSS) criteria in the content of Palestinian mathematic textbooks equals 46.88%, The average over all availability ratio of (TIMSS) criteria in the content of Jordanian mathematic textbooks equals 62.5%, Average over all availability ratio of (TIMSS) criteria for statistics and probabilities in Palestinian mathematic textbook for cognitive processes dimension equals 62.5%, Average over all availability ratio of (TIMSS) criteria for statistics and probabilities in Jordanian mathematic textbook for cognitive processes dimension equals 71.88%. According to the results that the researcher reached to, the researcher recommended that designers and mathematic curriculum developers should look at the global study standards of mathematics and science (TIMSS) for building developing and correct mathematic curriculum in the light of these criteria and to benefit from the results of the study to know the criteria that not included in the curriculum and work to pay attention to it and embed it in the curriculum.
