Abstract
This study aims to explore the reasons behind students' reluctance to follow the scientific path in Hebron Governorate's schools and the methods to be adopted to limit this phenomena. The study population consisted of all (10,026) twelve grade students in all Hebron Governorate schools (2019-2020 academic year). The study sample consisted of 700 twelve grade students selected through stratified random sampling approach in addition to a purposive sample of schools' principals. The researcher adopted the descriptive approach for being suitable for the research objectives. To collect data, the researcher built a questionnaire consists of (40) paragraph assessing (5) aspects, and it was verified in terms of validity and reliability using appropriate statistical methods. The study questions have been investigated and the hypothesis have been tested using Statistical Package for Social Science program (SPSS). The researcher also conducted interviews with a sample of principals, which were analyzed through qualitative method. The study results shows that twelve grade students' assessment of the reasons behind students' reluctance to follow the scientific path in Hebron Governorate schools was in average, with a mean score of (3.52) and a standard deviation of (0.47). the study results also shows statistically significance differences at the level of significance (a ≤ 0.05) between the mean scores of twelve grade students' assessment due to variables of gender, and academic qualification of students' parents, while other differences were found which are due to educational path, student's level of performance in the tenth grade, and the directorate of education. According to the study resultants, ways to limit students' reluctance to follow the scientific path were conducted. In light of the study results, the researcher had introduced relevant recommendations.
