Abstract
This study aimed at identifying the training needs and its relation to the job performance of the social workers at the Ministry of Social Development, In her study the researcher used the descriptive method, with a study population that is consisted of 51 social workers who are currently working in Nablus, Ramallah and Jerico Directorates, for the academic year 2019 and 2020. The researcher used the comprehensive survey method for the whole study population, In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher developed a study tool which is the (Questionnaire) to suit the Palestinian environment consisting of 56 items, as well as conducting Interviews with the general manger of HR and the manger of supervision department in the ministry to enhance the results obtained. The researcher distributed questionnaires to all members of the study population numbered (51) in the three directorates, )51( questionnaires were collected and one survey was excludedو as it was not valid for statistical analysis. The study led to set of results, the most important ones were: According to the responses came from the social workers in the Ministry of Social Development regarding their training needs, the level of their awareness towards the three aspects of training (cognitive, ethical, and skill) came as average, with mathematical averages. The efficiency of performance has achieved a mean average of (3.88)as it also showed a higher statistical significant agreement towards the positive influence to identifying the training needs about the job performance. There are also, statistical significant differences that are related to years of experiences, the differences were in favor of those with higher years of experiences, and the result showed that there is statistically significant correlation reached )1.19( . In light of these findings, the study recommended: To enroll the social workers in the ministry of social development in a cognitive aspect training courses in the recourses of family society support, as for the ethical aspect, the professional skills in dealing with the media, and finally for the skill aspect, the computer skills. The study also recommended to connect the process of identifying the needs with surveying the social workers needs in a continued manner as well as developing a model for specifying these needs.
