Abstract
This study dealt with the topic of civilized dialogue and its role in promoting the
values of moderation and tolerance and addressing the phenomenon of
extremism and violence, from an Islamic perspective, and what prompted me to
do this study was to show the importance of dialogue in Islam, its methods and
determinants, and to clarify the importance of dialogue between human beings
instead of clash, and among the most prominent studies that dealt with this The
topic is Islam and cultural pluralism between ways of dialogue and the ethics of
coexistence, by Abdel Hadi Fadli, and a study on youth and the dialogue of
civilizations: by Muhammad Obaid Mansour Al-Rifai
This study aimed to clarify the role of civilized dialogue in promoting the
values of moderation and tolerance and addressing the phenomenon of
extremism and violence, from an Islamic perspective. To achieve this goal, the
descriptive approach was used, in describing dialogue in Arabic, in the Holy
Qur’an, the Prophetic Sunnah, and the analytical approach, in Analysis of
Muslims' relationships in dialogue with others, and the deductive approach in
arriving at the results of the study.
The term dialogue was presented linguistically and idiomatically, and the
difference between it and argument and debate was presented, then its
legitimacy in the Qur’an and Sunnah, the methodology of dialogue with
wisdom, and its conditions that lead to civilized understanding, where this study
concluded that the dialogue approved by Islamic Sharia is a collective and
individual responsibility of Muslims And that dialogue in its various forms and
types if its goal is good and reform and avoiding calamities and disasters for the
nation of Islam, whether with oneself or with others, and dialogue with people
is approved by Islamic Sharia in the midst of all atmospheres in times of
prosperity and times of hardship, dialogue in the modern era has contributed to
the emergence of global personalities who threw Therefore, those working in
the field and Islamic thought, whether they are in official institutions or Islamic
intellectual bodies, should work hard and sincerely to avoid its obstacles and
setbacks, because those who stalk Islam do not want bad but rather seek to
waste its reputation and mark. Attributes of which he is innocent, and
moderation, moderation and benevolence must be adopted. The interlocutor
must be fully aware of the message of Islam, and be open-minded, intelligent
and broad-minded, surrounded by Aref various, and with a great deal of culture,
experience and specialization.
