    Awareness, Knowledge and Practices of Laser Hair Removal (LHR) among people visiting special clinic in Palestine: Cross sectional study

    Excess body and facial hair, particularly in women, can cause substantial psychological and social distress, including emotional strain, anxiety, and depression, as well as lowered self-esteem and academic and occupational performance. Shaving, waxing, plucking, and depilatory treatments are among methods for eliminating unwanted hair. However, these methods are time-consuming, unsuccessful, and may cause pain. In addition, they can cause skin irritation, infection, allergic or irritant dermatitis, and scarring. Despite the well-known benefits of laser hair removal (LHR), there are many misconceptions and negative attitudes among the public. These include fear of pain, burns, scars, damage to the eyes and internal organs, skin cancer, and changes in skin tone and texture.

    The need for white skin has become a worldwide phenomenon and a cultural beauty standard especially among dark skinned populations. The use of skin bleaching without professional guidance has raised concerns about public health. A number of skin-lightening products (SLPs) have been linked to major side effects related to dermatology, the kidneys, and the nervous system. These products also contain hydroquinone, mercury, and corticosteroids. Studies show that achieving pale skin and beauty are the most common goals. Impressing peers and men are among the other reasons for wanting to get rid of redness, pustules, and skin issues.

    Exploring the Use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine for Treatment and Prevention of Flu

    Complementary and Alternative Medicines (CAM) could be a viable option in treating influenza pandemics, especially as stockpiling antivirals can be expensive and developing effective vaccines for influenza is challenging due to frequent changes in virus antigenic structures, making it difficult for ongoing research. CAM practices and remedies are a promising and affordable option that prioritizes a holistic approach to health. Although the effectiveness of CAM can differ, their use is increasing globally. However, there is a lack of research on how CAM is used for influenza prevention and treatment among Palestinians.

    Key Determinants of Influenza Vaccination Intake among Pregnant Women: a cross sectional study from Palestine

    Pregnant women and infants under six months are at higher risk of severe influenza-related health issues. Maternal influenza vaccine protects pregnant women and their newborns from serious problems caused by the influenza virus. The inactivated influenza vaccine is safe and effective during any trimester of pregnancy. However, despite the vaccine's safety and potential benefits, vaccination rates among pregnant women are still low. Understanding the factors that affect their decision-making is critical to designing targeted interventions to improve vaccination rates and enhance the overall well-being of mother and child.

    The Role of Community Pharmacists as Immunizers: Assessing Their Willingness to Administer Immunizations to Adults

    Immunization is a highly effective and affordable preventive measure against various diseases. Despite this, many immunization programs are not being utilized as much as expected. Interestingly, involving pharmacists in vaccine administration has proven beneficial to both patients and healthcare systems in countries like Portugal, England, and the USA. In Palestine, pharmacists are currently not involved in vaccine services but play an active role in public education. To extend their responsibilities and ensure a more comprehensive scope of practice, it is important to determine their interest in becoming immunization providers, and their knowledge and opinion on the subject.

    Beyond Medications: Understanding the Perspectives of Community Pharmacists on Non-pharmaceutical Products in Palestine

    Non-pharmaceutical NP products are not classified as pharmaceuticals or medical devices, neither they include over-the-counter nor prescription drugs. Despite being highly consumable preparations intended for internal or external use by humans, NP products are found to be rapidly growing and distributed in pharmacies such as; skincare, hair care, oral, dental care and baby care products etc.
