Wastewater Treatment Plant in Jericho as a Case Study(Deanship of Research/ Al-Quds University, 2024-04-01) Margarita Kharoufeh; Saad AmiraWater scarcity in Palestine presents a significant and wide-ranging challenge, exacerbated by limited access to clean water sources, population growth, and political conflict. The establishment of wastewater treatment plants, particularly in Jericho, is vital to addressing this issue. This project focuses on studying the dual relationship between purifying wastewater and assessing its biological suitability for agricultural use in Jericho Governorate. Additionally, it evaluates the economic and social impact of the plant on the residents of the governorate. Consideration is given to the complexities surrounding water resources in the region, including issues of water scarcity, groundwater depletion, and the political context.
