This thesis aims at studying and analyzing Jordan and US relationships during
the period from 1999 to 2006. It also evaluates the impact of the Jordanian
environment (internally, regionally and internationally) and its repercussions
on the bilateral issues.
The study focuses on the development of Jordanian-American relations since
the establishment of the Jordanian Emirate; through the Monarchy until the
end of King Hussein era as a historical framework of the study.
The study utilizes the historical methodology and the systems analysis theory
to reach its conclusion.
The thesis is composed of six chapters including the conclusion.
The study concludes that US has always tried to exploit the Jordan policy in
solving the Jordanian domestic and regional dilemmas, but doesn’t provide
the minimum requirements to Jordan to face its internal and external
problems. It can be considered that Jordan has relatively succeeded with the
objectives of its relations with the US.
