This study aimed to identify the role of water harvesting projects in the vegetation cover of the beneficiaries in the Hebron Governorate, between the period 2011-2019, in terms of the beneficiaries' satisfaction, the effectiveness of projects and the sustainability of the used techniques in water harvesting projects, and the conservation of water in the soil and agricultural crops in the vegetation cover. The importance of the study stems from the scarcity of the research that dealt with this topic - according to the researcher's knowledge - and the results of this study are expected to highlights on the water harvesting projects and their role in the vegetation cover, and this study is expected to be the starting point for many studies in the future. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researcher used the descriptive approach, and developed a questionnaire which consists of three main sections, the first section included general information about the respondents, the second section included water harvest projects that consist of (16) paragraphs, and this section consisted of three axes (beneficiaries' satisfaction with water harvesting projects, the sustainability of water harvesting techniques, and the effectiveness of water harvesting projects). The third section included the vegetation cover which consists of (15) paragraphs, divided into two axes (water conservation in soil, and agricultural crops). The sample of the study consists of (120) from the whole community, they were (218) beneficiaries. The sample of the study was selected randomly. After the data was collected, it was statistically treated by using SPSS program. The results of the study showed the degree of the sustainability of water harvesting techniques, project effectiveness, beneficiaries' satisfaction and water conservation in the soil and agricultural crops among the beneficiaries in Hebron governorate, which was high, with an average (3.87, 4.13, 4.08, 4.10, 3.71) respectively. It also showed a direct relationship between all the dimensions of the study. There are statistically significant differences in the degree of sustainability techniques, project effectiveness, beneficiaries ’satisfaction due to the source of income in favor of farm income, type of cultivation in favor of supplementary irrigation. There are statistically significant differences in the degree of effectiveness of water harvesting projects due to the variables of individuals involved in the work in favor of the head of the family, the region in favor of sub-humid areas, and land classification, in the degree of agricultural crops due to the variables of type of agriculture, land classification in favor of fruitful field crops, the degree of water conservation in the soil due to the type agriculture in favor of fruitful field crops, and there are statistically significant differences in the overall degrees of all axes (water harvesting projects and the total degree attributed to the variable of water harvesting techniques used by the beneficiaries in Hebron Governorate in favor of stone chains and contour plowing and in the axes of the vegetation in favor of stone chains. In the light of the study, the researcher recommended the following: The donor organizations should focus on water harvesting projects that use stone chains technology, and should increase the number of water harvesting projects in sub-humid areas, which classified as C. Conducting applied studies on the relationship between the used techniques in harvesting and the use of supplementary irrigation in rain fed crops. Moreover, conducting studies on the ancient water harvesting techniques which are used in Palestine to establish the Palestinian heritage of these techniques.en
