Abstract
This study is aimed on the Islamic Liberation Party’s position toward the Arab-Israeli
conflict. The researcher focused on the period extending from the 1967 war until AlAqsa
Intifada in 2000 in order to understand the party’s positions of the Palestinian
cause since Belfour Declaration in 1917 and through the different stages of the
Palestinian struggle..
The researcher dependeds on the historical, analytical and descriptive method in his
study and focused on the importance of knowing the past to recognize both present and
future because historical phenomena have affected the party’s ideas as a whole. There
are several scientific and knowledge justifications and reasons that encouraged the
researcher to address this issue.
This study addressed a number of ideological, political and jurisprudential ideas that are
related to the study’s main topic which focuses on the Party’s position toward the
Palestinian cause; this party refuses to fight for the Palestinian cause according to its
principles. It focuses mainly on the idea of establishing the Islamic Caliphship which
will work on freeing Palestine; that is why this Party focuses on the idea of caliphship
since it sees it as a way of freeing Palestine from occupation.
The study pointed out that: The Liberation Party has adopted ideas and principles that
raised disputes and debate among researchers. Many of the Party’s theoretical and
political proposals are not realistic and that its slogans and ideas are considered
metaphysical meaning that they dominate the main issue we are addressing which is
freeing Palestine. The party has many contradictions regarding the application of its ideas since it declares that it is against armed action but at the same time, it tries to gain
access to power through revolution to establish the Islamic state.
Caliphship is not the only regime on which we account to liberate Palestine, face the
Israeli threat and unify the Islamic nation; what happened in the past can not be applied
today.
Islamic legislation did not determine the form of governance and system in the Islamic
state after the passing away of Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him.
The researcher recommends the separation of religion from any political utilization, and
instead reform our societies through clear and extensive programs. The researcher also
says the Party should re-consider its ideas and policies.
