dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to identify the idicators of psychological stress among the mothers of autism children in Hebron governorate and to identify the level of psychological stress among the mothers of autism children in Hebron Governorate within the following dimensions: (dimension of psychological and organic symptoms، dimension of feelings of despair and frustration ، dimension of thinking about the cognitive and psychological problems of the child، dimension of family and social problems، dimension of anxiety about the future of the child، dimension of thinking about the problems of independent performance، dimension of bearing the financial burdens of having an autistic child. The study also aimed to identify the level of psychological stress among the mothers of autism children within the following variables (mother’s age، place of residence، child’s age، child’s gender، mother’s social status، mother’s educational level، economic level ، child’s birth order، and the number of brothers and sisters). The population of the study included all autism children's mothers ، represented by (350) mothers in Hebron Governorate.The researcher used the descriptive method to identify the sources of psychological stress among autism children's mothers in Hebron Governorate. The study sample consisted of (248) autism children's mothers were chosen randomly. The researcher used the psychological stress scale for the autism children's mothers، it consisted of (80) items distributed on seven dimensions. The scale was applied to the study sample after extracting the indicators of validity and reliability for the scale. Then، conducting appropriate statistical analyses. t- test and One Way ANOVA were used. Results showed that the level of psychological stress among autism children's mothers in all domains of the scale was within the middle level. The highest average level was for the dimension of thinking about the cognitive and psychological problems of autistic child among autism children's mothers in the Hebron governorate and at the same level for the dimension of anxiety about the child’s future among autism children's mothers in Hebron Governorate، Whereas، the lowest average level of psychological stress dimension was for the psychological and organic symptoms among autism children's mothers in Hebron Governorate. Results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences for the variables of mother’s age، place of residence، child’s age، child’s gender ، mother’s social status، mother’s educational level، child’s birth order، and the number of brothers and sisters in the degree of psychological stress among autistic children mothers. While it showed statistically significant differences in the domain of economic level. In light of the results of this study، the researcher recommends the following: preparing counselling and treatment programs to train the mothers of autism children of how to manage psychological stress. Preparing programs that concern with developing positive confrontation skills and the ability of solving problems. Providing financial support for the families of autism children to meet the autism children's needs.en
