| dc.description.abstract | Study summary the study aimed to identify the role of government institutions in the community-based rehabilitation of people with disabilities in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate during the period between 2017 and 2019, in terms of health, educational, social, empowerment services, and assistance in livelihoods. The study is based on the analysis on the WHO CBR matrix, and a questionnaire is used to survey respondents' opinions about the role of government institutions in CBR in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate during the study period (2017-2019). The questionnaire refers to demographic variables (gender, age, marital status, type of disability, population group), and searches for researchers' opinions about the differences in services according to each variable. The study adopted the descriptive approach, and the study population consisted of 1944 with disabilities from different population centers in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate, with a focus on three types of disabilities: hearing, vision and movement. The researcher used a random stratified sample of 320 respondents, and the questionnaire was filled out by the direct interview method through the researcher's visit to all the sample members. The study found that the role of government institutions in the community-based rehabilitation of people with disabilities is low on various health, educational, social and empowerment levels, as well as at the level of livelihood the study presented several recommendations at the level of each axis of the study in order to achieve community-based rehabilitation for the disabled. The recommendations are summarized by the necessity of providing all services (in health, education, livelihoods, and social and empowerment services), as well as the necessity to harmonize the infrastructure and buildings to facilitate the integration of the disabled into society. | ar |
