Abstract
This study aimed at investigating perceptions of teachers towards employing a smart learning strategy and its relation to the availability of its requirements in their schools, in the light of the variables of gender, specialization, educational qualification, and years of experience, the researcher adopted the descriptive and correlative approach as a method to her study, the study population consisted of all teachers of smart learning schools in Bethlehem governorate, and this study was applied during the second semester of the academic year (2018/2019), while a cluster class sample was selected consisting of (105 female) teacher and (25 male) teacher, which means 50% of the study population.
To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used two tools of study, a questionnaire to measure teachers’ perceptions towards employing smart learning, and the other questionnaire to measure the availability of requirements for employing smart learning. Their validity and consistency were verified before the study was applied.
The results of the study showed that the degree of perceptions of teachers towards employing smart learning was moderate as the mean was (3.59), the results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean of teachers’ perceptions towards employing smart learning due to variable (gender, specialization, educational qualification, years of experience).
With regard to the availability of smart learning requirements the results of the study showed that the degree of availability of the requirements of smart learning was moderate as the mean was (3.29), the results of the study showed that there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) in the average availability of the requirements of smart learning, attributed to the gender variable and in favor of females.
The study did not show statistically significant differences (α ≤ 0.05) in the mean availability of smart learning requirements due to the variable of specialization, educational qualification and years of experience, the results of the study reveal a statistically significant correlation between teachers’ perceptions towards the use of smart learning strategy and the availability of smart learning requirements.
In light of the results of the study, the researcher recommended the necessity of qualifying and preparing the teacher before applying such
projects, adopting the smart learning, expanding the number of schools involved in its application, and equipping schools with the necessary infrastructure to employ smart learning by providing physical, technical as well as human potential of teachers and learners trained to use smart learning applications and technicians to maintain devices periodically and continuously in addition of the further studies on smart learning using other variables and on other samples that must be done in other studies
