| dc.description.abstract | Education and increasing awareness of individuals and communities, specially women, about environmental issues should enable people to develop the knowledge, attitude and skills that increase the chance that they will be good environmental citizens and upgrade the quality of life at the individual, family and community levels. The purpose of this study (Knowledge, Attitude and Practice Among Women Attending Primary Health Care in Middle Governorate of Gaza Strip, UNRWA and Governmental Clinics Regarding Environmental Sanitation) is to determine the level of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) and the relationship with age, type of clinic, level of education, and monthly income. The study was implemented in the middle governorate of Gaza Strip. The sample of this study is composed of (160) married women, 120 from UNRWA and 40 from Governmental clinics. Women were chosen from every clinic by convenience sampling. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) software version 11 was used to process the data. The results indicated that the study women have a high level of knowledge regarding environmental sanitation with a percentage level of 77.4, and a positive attitude toward environmental sanitation with a high percentage of 67.4. The findings showed that the level of practice was either high with a mean percentage of 71.5 of the points. In addition, no significant differences were found in the women KAP based on type of clinic (Government and UNRWA) in middle governorate. Also, no significant differences were found in the women KAP regarding environmental sanitation according to their level of education, women age and their monthly income. According to the findings, a high level of knowledge and attitude among women toward environmental sanitation could lead to developing the practice toward environmental sanitation by enriching and enhancing the relationship with the institutions of local IV community.
