dc.description.abstractThe study aimed to identify the relationship between altruistic behavior and the emotional equilibrium at a sample of Palestinian university students, the correlational approach was used to achieve the objectives of the study. The study population consisted of all Palestinian university students (Al-Quds University, Bethlehem University, and An-Najah University) and the survey sample was formed of (518) students. The altruistic behavior and the emotional equilibrium scale was used, and the study tool has been validated by presenting it to a group of competent and the experiences arbitrators, and Pearson correlation coefficient was also calculated for the paragraphs of the questionnaire with the total score and it turned out that there is an internal consistency between the paragraphs. The stability of the tool was verified by calculating the total score stability of the stability factor based on the stability equation Cronbach Alpha, and the total score of the altruistic behavior was (78.0) and (77.0) for the level of the emotional equilibrium. And this result indicates the consistent this tool has, which is fulfilling the study purposes . The results of the study showed that the altruistic behavior level of the total score was high, while the emotional equilibrium level was moderate which shows that there is a direct correlation in a statistically significant between the level of the altruistic behavior and emotional equilibrium. The results of the study also show differences in the level of the altruistic behavior attributed to the qualitative variable, and the differences were in favor of females, while they showed no differences in the variable of the college, grade point average, place of residence, birth order, and the university variable . The results show that there were no differences in the emotional equilibrium level for the qualitative variable, college, place of residence, birth order, and the university variable. While it showed differences in the variable of the grade point average in favor of (86% or more). Based on the results of the study I recommend the following: work on increasing awareness of the importance of the altruistic behavior among students, especially males, because of its importance for mental health for them, and conduct more research on the topic of the altruistic behavior and emotional equilibrium of other variables.en
