Abstract
This research has concerned “Assafina” book –The Ship-, by Yousuf Bin Abdul-Rahman El-Qadoumi , the only copy by the author’s handwriting, and has inspected the author’s biography who lived in Nablus during late thirteen’s Hijri century and early fourteen’s. The reasons that stimulated me to attain my M.A in Arabic language and literature includes enriching the Arabic and Islamic knowledge with a new book, also to truly draw students’ attention to dive into this important stream and bring it back from the old heritage, from being stored in closed library rooms to present studies. According to what I have found, this research will be the first to study the book with a complete biographic analysis while only simple studies have concerned only the author. The importance of this research lies into the new critic and linguistic also the rhetoric perspective which the book involves, it, in fact, forms essential knowledge for researchers, the study of the biography of the author Yousuf Bin Abdul-Rahman El-Qadoumi and his book, refutes those who attributed the author’s period to backwardness and degeneration with no proved evidence whereas it had shown lots of scholars in all fields of knowledge. Moreover this work, Assafina, is more like a bouquet of flowers that collected a flower with a different smell from every field of knowledge. The methods of search is based on the Integrative approach; The historical methods of study, shaped up the preface and the life events of the author and used to identify the persons and places included in the text. It also benefited from the inductive methods to identify the author and his family. While the Descriptive method in describing and manipulating the manuscript. Research has recommended and concluded the following: This book “Assafina” is more like diary or even in diversity of subjects as a magazine, especially that that period was thrilled with scholars and writers who enriched the Arabic and Islamic knowledge with their abundant works that remained in all fields, but required academic study and publication. The author’s technique was simple, clear and away from poorness or weakness, it was obvious that he was knowledgeable, making use of tens of books he’s known. Finally I recommend those who has the intention to contribute to the this field, to uncover these concealed treasures and show the world the non-lasting Arabic and Islamic legacy over periods and everywhere they have been especially in Palestine. My M.A research is based on several sources and references, the most important of these sources are: “Mokhtasar Tabaqat Alhanabila” – Abbreviation Of Hanbali’s Stratums” , collection of poetical works the author used in his work and illustration of “Alfiya ibn Malik”. The refrences used in this research included "Al-Nahw Alwafi” by Hasan Abbas, "Alqdiya Alfalastinya” – by Kairrideen Ezarkli.
