| dc.description.abstract | The study aimed to examine the role of governmental oversight in its dimensions, which represented in (control techniques, control standards, actual performance measurement and supervisory evaluation) on the implementation of CEDAW in achieving human development by applying it to the Palestinian Ministry of Women's Affairs The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach to examine the role of government oversight on the implementation of CEDAW in achieving human development; the study used both a questionnaire and an interview tool to collect primary data, as the questionnaire tool was applied to workers in the Palestinian Ministry of Women Affairs, and the researcher followed the comprehensive inventory method, (83) questionnaires were distributed, (50) were retrieved, with a recovery rate of (60.2%), in addition to carrying out (6) interviews with human rights and women organizations and the Palestinian Ministry of Women's Affairs. The study found a set of results, the most important were the presence of a significant statistical impact of governmental oversight on the implementation of the CEDAW agreement in achieving human development, through (the supervisory standards dimension "positive effect", measuring actual performance "negative impact", and supervisory evaluation "positive effect." While there is no impact of the control techniques dimension in achieving human development. The study also found that there are no differences in the respondents' responses to the governmental oversight and human development variables due to the demographic variables that are: (gender, age, academic qualification, job title and years of experience) except for the presence of differences in the respondents ’responses on the axis of “ government control ” due to the demographic variables (age and number of years of experience). The study concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important were: the recommendation of the Palestinian National Authority to work on activating the Legislative Council in order to enhance the harmonization of Palestinian laws and legislations with the provisions of international agreements and treaties that the Palestinian Authority has committed to sign in order to give legal status to these agreements and thus provide the necessary legal support to implement them on the ground in addition to the necessity of strengthen partnerships and effective coordination between the Palestinian Ministry of Women’s Affairs and the Ministry of Social Development, Education and Health in order to exchange expertise and experiences and effective coordination between them in a way that enhances the provision of the necessary protection for Palestinian women and enhances their full access to human and legal rights.. | |
