Abstract
This study aimed to identify the degree of awareness of physical education teachers in the Hebron governorate of motor skills and their relationship to their knowledge of injury prevention methods, and to reveal whether this degree differs according to (school sex, academic qualification, years of experience, and the directorate). This study was conducted in the semester. The second academic year for the academic year 2019/2020, and the study population reached (214) teachers of physical education, and the sample of the study was (116) teachers of physical education, using the relational descriptive approach.
For the collection of information, two tools were prepared, one in the field of perception of motor skills and the second in the field of preventing sports injuries, and they achieved acceptable indications of validity and stability.
The study found that physical education teachers ’perception of sports skills (partridge, jumping, and landing) was high, and the results also found that there were no statistically significant differences between physical education teachers’ perception of basic motor skills, due to variables (scientific qualification, years of experience). The results also revealed the existence of statistically significant differences in the perception of basic motor skills according to the variable of the Directorate of Education, in favor of North Hebron, and according to the school gender variable, in favor of (females), and the results of the study revealed that there are no statistically significant differences between the perception of physical education teachers of their role. In the prevention of injury, it is attributed to variables (educational qualification, years of experience). The results also revealed the existence of statistically significant differences in teachers ’perception of their role in preventing infection, according to the Education Directorate variable, in favor of South and North Hebron, and according to the school gender variable in favor of (female and mixed), and the results revealed a strong correlation between averages. Physical education teachers' awareness of motor skills and their knowledge of injury prevention.
Based on the results of the study, the researcher recommended providing means of support to encourage teachers to use innovative educational methods that help students understand the correct performance of basic motor skills.
