Abstract
This study dealt with the United States foreign policy towards the Palestinian cause in the period of President Barack Obama. Where, and after President George W. Bush term, a new foreign policy emerged towards the world in general, and towards the Palestinian issue in particular. In the last decade, the United States tried to restore some balance in the international arena, it became more assertive and determined to revive its past, reclaim its role and prestige, and maintain its security and sovereignty by adopting a new foreign policy. The political decision-making in the United States is processed within a set of powerful institutions that comprise the American political system, and they are governed by relations of cooperation and conflict for the sake of political decision-making and to achieve its objectives, the conflict between the executive authority, represented by the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the legislative authority represented by the Congress, is considered a model for conflict of interest between these institutions and powers, in addition to the fact that the military establishment play an important role in the political decision-making in the United States because of the many military commitments the United States has in different places of the world. These institutions are connected to a number of influential forces that pressure the decision-making process in the United States, pushing to make decisions that serve the ambitions and interests of such forces. Therefore the institutions find themselves linked to an intellectual system that form the bases of the US strategic thinking that revolves around a number of factors, most importantly trade, profitability and power factors. Having that said, the possibility of political maneuver in the decision-making process the US President Barack Obama has is very limited as it is associated with the state overall vision, this led the Obama administration's to be unable to find or help in finding a final solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict
