Water quality and public health is a vital issue in a semi arid and water scarce country. The goal is to investigate the quality of drinking water. Specifically chlorination by products are investigated. Identify the main factors that govern the variation of disinfection by products (DBPs) formation either in drinking water or swimming pool water (recreation water). Microbiological occurrence in drinking water distribution systems and swimming pools are also part of the research objectives. Improving water treatment to decrease DBPs formation by removing precursors is another important field. Using innovative methods in industrial water treatment is part of the work too.
