This necessitates concerted efforts to achieve a better understanding of geriatric care and to establish infrastructure of medical professionals and facilities qualified to deal with this vulnerable population. Given the lack of specialized training in geriatric care in medical schools and the absence of geriatric specialty programs in Palestine, assessing healthcare providers’ knowledge and awareness of normal aging and geriatric syndromes would be a very appropriate initial step to direct such efforts.

Over 772 million people were infected and nearly seven million have lost their lives. The virus plagues the respiratory system mainly causing fever, dyspnea, and dry cough as initial symptoms. The long-term effects of COVID-19 are still unknown, particularly in the Middle East, so this study was conducted to determine the long-term consequences of COVID-19 on Palestinian people living in the West Bank.
