Abstract
This thesis aimed to identify the role of the cooperative societies in the governorate of Hebron in sustainable agricultural development by revealing the role of these associations in the services provided by the associations to their members and employees, and their role in marketing agricultural production and in raising the level of farmers' , In Hebron governorate.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical method and the questionnaire tool were used, which consisted of three sections: the first dealing with the demographic variables, the second section related to the social and economic characteristics of the workers, and the third section related to the quality of activities provided by the society. The role of associations in marketing agricultural production, and the third axis: the role of associations in raising the level of material income of farmers, and the fourth axis: the role of associations in the treatment of agricultural problems.
The study tool was applied to the sample of workers in cooperative societies in the sustainable agricultural development in Hebron Governorate, which reached 44.5% of the study population, and 48 of the 108 workers working in these associations.
The results showed that the role of cooperatives in sustainable agricultural development from the point of view of their workers in Hebron governorate was very supportive of the role of cooperatives in sustainable development. The average of the calculation was 3.86, and the role of associations in raising the level of farmers' (3.10), followed by the role of associations in the treatment of agricultural problems with an average of (3.8), and then the field of services provided by the association to its members and employees, with an average of (3.7).
The role of cooperatives in economic development was highlighted. The results showed that there are no differences in the role of cooperative societies in sustainable agricultural development in the economic field. This is due to the variables of the work area of the society and the educational qualification, although it was found that there are statistically
significant differences due to the variables of the association's founding date, , And to obtain quality specifications for agricultural products. This enhances the importance of agricultural cooperatives in sustainable development and considers them to play a positive role in economic development at the individual level as a factor in the society and at a wider level in the agricultural sector to achieve Development.
At the end of the study, the researcher recommended several recommendations and proposals, most notably the increase of cooperation between the private sector and the public sector to coordinate the regulatory, commercial, economic and scientific efforts, including continuity using scientific studies of the characteristics of agricultural production and seasonal and non-seasonal pest affecting crops. , Taking a holistic approach to rural and agricultural development, bringing together extension providers and promoting communication for sustainable development, establishing rural extension activities for farmers and non-farm farmers in rural areas.
